2018-09 Angela Kilmartin PGC Pro Bio info

HI there, my name is Angela Kilmartin and I took over the role of PGA Professional at Kilkeel Golf Club in July 2018.

My History
I began my golfing career as a junior member of Tipperary Golf Club.  I played on teams at all levels and represented the club at junior and senior events across the country.  In 1997 I moved North where I joined Warrenpoint Golf Club and continued to play at senior level until joining the PGA in 2007.

As a junior I played on the Munster Under 18 Interprovincial team and went on to play on the Ulster Ladies Interprovincial team after my move to Warrenpoint.

In 2007 I began my PGA training at Tandragee Golf Club under the excellent guidance of Head Professional Dympna Keenan and I qualified in 2010.  I continued to work at Tandragee until my recent appointment as Kilkeel Golf Club Head Professional.

Junior Golf
I played a significant role in the development of the junior branch at Tandragee Golf Club which has grown and has had a lot of success in the last ten years.  I hope to use the experience I gained to develop the junior section here at Kilkeel GC.  If you know of any kids interested in starting up golf contact me.

2018-09-16 Colly aces par 4 for a 'Carlsberg' golfing week!!

Carlsberg don’t do golfing weeks, but if they did, then surely Colly Cunningham could have been said to have had one last week.

Colly

It didn’t start off great when he was in the final of the Matchplay singles and finished runner-up to Michael McAnulty, however things got better when he won the Scratch Cup defeating Joe McKnight at the 20th hole on Thursday evening.

Colly then set out on Saturday morning in the weekly Stableford competition sponsored by David McCartan and won the competition with a fantastic 42 points off a 4 handicap, 6 better than par. Then on Sunday he had another good round winning the gross with a 77.

However the highlight of the week came at the par four 5th hole where Colly holed his tee shot for an ace, a rare feat indeed.
